The Zambia U20 boys’ national team have suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Gambia in their second Group C game at the ongoing TotalEnergies U20 AFCON tournament.

Zambia’s performance against Gambia was not any different from their first game against Benin, giving out possession cheaply.

Despite Gambia creating several goal scoring opportunities, they had to wait until the 62nd minute to take the lead through Kajally Drammeh.

Captain Alagie Saine made it two for Gambia from the spot nine minutes to full after goalkeeper, Jeban Tembo, committed a foul in the box.

The defeat leaves Zambia with only a point while Gambia remains at the top with maximum points from their two group games.

Zambia will now play Tunisia in Cairo in their last group game hoping to pick up maximum points.

Benin is second in the group on two points while Zambia and Tunisia each have one.
