Patriotic Front Presidential Aspirant, Miles Sampa, says his suspension from the party is illegal and is a ploy to prevent him from participating in the general conference slated for March, 2023.
Mr. Sampa says the appointment of Given Lubinda and Nickson Chilangwa as Acting President and Secretary General is also illegal.
In a statement of claim filed before the Lusaka High Court, Mr. Sampa says he was shocked by President Edgar Lungu’s decision to appoint the duo because it is against the party’s constitution.
He says after Lungu’s resignation, Davies Mwila was the one occupying the office of Secretary General of the party and was supposed to ascend to the position of acting party president as provided in article 53 of the party constitution.
Mr. Sampa has cited Given Lubinda and Nickson Chilangwa as respondents in the matter.
