Money Grow, a savings and credit cooperative society, has assured that it will pay its members, who have requested to be refunded their 30% deposits, towards the purchase of motor vehicles.

Cooperative Acting Chairperson, Mwangala Chakalashi, has told Diamond Media that some of their agents were involved in fraudulent activities, in which out of 548 beneficiaries, 290 were fictitious.

Ms. Chakalashi says wrong people ended up as beneficiaries of motor vehicles, leaving the cooperative with a huge debt.

She called on individuals to remain calm and await a refund.

On Monday, scores of beneficiaries of the ‘own a vehicle scheme’ stormed the cooperative offices in Rhodespark, demanding refunds, fearing that they had been duped.
