Voting is underway in Kapanda Ward By-Election in Lukashya Constituency of Kasama District.
The seat fell vacant after former Patriotic Front Councillor Silvano Mulenga resigned to join the civil service as a teacher following the 2022 teacher recruitment exercise.
However, campaign in the election has been marred in violence between the UPND and PF hence the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ was compelled to issue a warning to political parties that it would invoke the Electoral Process Act to deal with an erring camp.
The confusion was similar in Itala Ward of Lunga District were reports of scuffles among supporters were recorded.
