Government has unearthed a scam, in which some farmers in Kazungula district, who are yet to redeem their 2022-2023 inputs, are said to have ganged up to defraud the Farmer Input Support System (FISP).

According to Kazungula District Commissioner, Elias Siamibila, some farmers have been found wanting for presenting receipts, belonging to another camp in an attempt to collect already redeemed 27 bags of fertilizer under a different name of a cooperative.

The twist in the ongoing FISP controversy has exposed past illegalities cited in the 2021 Auditor General’s Report in which some regions recorded irregularities of people collecting inputs under false pretense.
