Zambezi River Authority-ZRA Chief Executive Munyaradzi Munodawafa says the leakage at the Kariba Dam has always been there, but it has no negative effect.

He says the leakage is about 20 litres per second but of no significance.

Further they have disclosed that the Zimbabwe Power Company will pay 1.8 million dollars for 11.12 percent overutilization of water above allocation.

And Minister of Energy Peter Kapala says the country has reduced exportation of electricity to neighboring countries by 20 percent.

He was speaking in Siavonga during an engagement meeting with key players in the Energy sector.

  1. So where was Zambezi River Authority when the Zimbabwe power company went their water allocation? All this seems to to point to the fact the the water utilisation monitoring is sluggish.
