Distribution of farming inputs under Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) across the country is still underway as persistent irregularities choke the process.
In Kasama of Northern Province, some farmers have accused some cooperate officials of bribing those responsible for the programme to skip some beneficiaries on the schedule, a situation which has angered other farmers that have spent weeks without receiving inputs.
In Kazungula District in Southern Province, farmers have equally bemoaned prolonged delays of the process they describe as a disappointment.
Inconsistencies in the distribution exercise has seen desperate farmers struggle to redeem inputs thus many claim alleged corrupt activities have now engulfed the system they hoped would be free of criminality as promised by the New Dawn Government.
So far most farmers in the respective regions mentioned have only collected D-Compound Fertilizer and many do not know when Urea will be available.
