The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) has expressed its readiness to commence the payment of claims to Zambia National Provident Fund (ZNPF) beneficiaries.

NAPSA Director General Muyangwa Muyangwa says all members who contributed to ZNPF between 1966 and 2000 can now make the claims, without waiting to reach the age of 50 years, which was initially required to access the benefits.

This comes after President Hakainde Hichilema assented to the National Pension Scheme Amendment (Bill) of 2022 on December 6, 2022.

The new law will facilitate payment of all ZNPF members and allow for closure of the ZNPF members account.

Meanwhile, Mr. Muyangwa says NAPSA account holders will only be able to claim their contributions after legislative formalities are completed by government at a later date.
