Minister of Agriculture, Mutolo Phiri, has maintained that government will continue to remove all farmers that have benefitted for more than three years, from the Farmer Input Support Program.
He was speaking in Parliament when he was asked why government is encouraging new cooperatives to benefit under FISP, and about the delay in the distribution to some farmers.
Mr. Phiri says the delay is as a result of cleaning the system, as many people have been on FISP for more than ten years, which is not meant to be the case.
Additionally, Shiwangandu Member of Parliament, Stephen Kampyongo, says the decision made by government may result in hunger across the country.
