A Head teacher at Eastern Girls Technical School has testified before the Chipata Magistrate Court in a case in which a 14-year-old pupil was allegedly defiled by a teacher at the school.
In this case, Jairos Mtonga, a Guidance and Counseling, History and Civic Education teacher at the school is facing one count of defilement.
Head teacher, Lilian Kapiri, 51 informed the court that on the material day, she received a report of defilement of a grade 9 pupil at the school.
Ms. Kapiri says she then took the girl to Mzeyi Health Centre for examinations, where she was issued a medical report.
She however says no medication was given to her because they had reported the matter after 72 hours had elapsed from the day the alleged defilement happened.
Trial continues tomorrow and the state is expected to call three more witnesses.
