Former Dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Zambia Professor Mundia Muya has been appointed new Zambia Information Communications Authority (ZICTA) Board Chairperson and will be deputised by Mr. Milner Makuni.
Others appointed to the board are Dr. John Shilukobo, Mr. Edward Chiteta, Ms. Beatrice Mutandi, Ms. Bubala Chibbonta and Ms. Maureen Mwanza.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony of the board, Minister of Science and Technology Felix Mutati has urged the new board to enhance digital transformation for economic development.
Mr. Mutati has also called on the board to expedite the process of appointing a Director General of ZICTA in a bid to sustain and enhance service provision.
Professor Muya says the board will look to invest in ICT innovation and provide cyber security and a safe efficient environment for electronic transformation.
