A suspected leaked letter bearing alleged correspondence between Solicitor General, Marshal Muchende and Acting Chief Justice, Roydah Kaoma has surfaced on social media that suggests that all matters involving the Attorney General have been adjourned to Friday 21st October 2022.
This comes minutes when the Court of Appeal is expected to hear the matter in which the State is challenging the decision by the High Court that suspended the Kabushi and Kwacha By-Elections and the proceedings should have begun at 10:00 hours.
The bench is also expected to hear a Leave Application by Joseph Malanji of the Patriotic Front (PF) to commence contempt proceedings against three Commissioners of the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) over their decision to go ahead with tomorrow’s by-elections for Kabushi and Kwacha Constituenciss despite an active Stay Order on the elections.
