19th October, 2022 – Police at Chelston Police Station of Lusaka Province has charged and arrested Fred Zulu aged 45 for the offence of murder involving his mother Regina Phiri aged 59 both are of house number 1/03 Kamanga Compound. This occurred today at around 10:00 hours.
Brief facts of the matter are that the suspect while drinking beer with the mother at home picked up a quarrel which resulted in the son punching the mother who fell to the ground and died instantly.
The body of the deceased has been deposited in the University Teaching Hospital awaiting postmortem and burial.
The suspect is detained in police custody and will appear in court soon.
