Social Enterprise Zambia Network has called on Government Ministries, Provinces and Spending Agencies to strategically allocate resources towards implementing the Grow Zambia Agenda.
SEZ Network Executive Director Metrinah Mumba says Government should focus resources on priority areas with the greatest potential to stimulate economic growth, create jobs and improve livelihoods, guided by the 10, 10, 5, 3, 3, 1, 1, 1 production plan.
Ms. Mumba says the Grow Zambia Agenda should be inclusive by deliberately creating opportunities for local producers, suppliers and entrepreneurs to participate in national development.
She says strengthening local businesses will help build domestic value chains, increase productivity and contribute to broad-based economic growth.
Ms. Mumba has also urged Government to budget for measures to cushion communities and productive sectors from the anticipated effects of El Niño, warning that climate-related shocks could affect agriculture, food security and infrastructure.
She says climate-resilient projects should be integrated into national planning and budgeting to support adaptation, mitigation and environmental sustainability.
