As the rainy season approaches, drivers operating along the Mufulira Mokambo road in Mufulira district are concerned that the road has not been worked.
In January this year, government announced that funds had been released for emergency works on the dilapidated Mufulira Mokambo road.
But 9 months down the line, no works have commenced on the road and the drivers fear that the busy route will again become impassable forcing them to halt operations once it rains.
Meanwhile Road Development Agency RDA Acting Director Communications and Corporate Affairs Anthony Mulowa says emergency works are scheduled to begin in the next two weeks.
