The U20 National boys team have been crowned COSAFA Champions after a hardy fought 1-nil win over Mozambique in the U20 AFCON Egypt 2023 | COSAFA Qualifier final.
They recorded 9 points in the group stage of the tournament, maintaining a clean sheet in all three games and buying a ticket to the 2023 AFCON.
Speaking in a post match interview, Head Coach Chisi Mbewe says it was not an easy game against Mozambique.
He adds that he is very happy and proud of how the boys responded towards the game.
Mozambique Coach Dario Monteiro says his squad should improve so they could reach the level where they will confidently compete in the AFCON.
The Junior Chipolopolo now look forward to the U20 AFCON 2023 Egypt as they celebrate their victory.
Meanwhile, Charles Mumba was awarded as player of the match and was selected as player of the tournament with Jeban Tembo who got the Golden glove award.
