President Hakainde Hichilema has with immediate effect removed suspended Director of Public Prosecutions –DPP Lillian Siyunyi from office.
In a statement availed to the media, presidential spokesperson Antony Bwalya says the action is based on the recommendations contained in the report presented to the president by the judicial complaints commission.
The removal of Mrs. Siyunyi from office is in exercise of the powers vested in the president pursuant to articles 182(3), 143(b) and 143(3) of the constitution of Zambia.
The former DPP was accused of gross misconduct and incompetence.
