All is set at Chawama’s Regina Pacis Parish for prayers in remembrance of former President Edgar Lungu, who died on June 5, 2025.
Today marks exactly one year since his death. However, he is yet to be buried due to an unresolved impasse between his family and the Zambian Government.
Inside the church are family members, friends, and congregants gathered to commemorate his life.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Appeal in South Africa is yet to deliver judgment on the family’s appeal challenging a lower court ruling that ordered the repatriation of his body to Zambia for a state funeral.
