
The Zambia Senior Men’s National Team have been pitted against Algeria, Togo and Burundi in Group I of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON 2027 qualifiers, following the draw conducted in Cairo on May 19.
Zambia, placed in Pot 2, have been handed a tough group with Algeria, one of the continent’s top-ranked sides from Pot 1 while Togo come from Pot 3 and Burundi from Pot 4.
The 48-team qualifying campaign features 12 groups of four, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the finals.
Qualification gets underway from 21 September to 6 October 2026, with Matchdays 3 and 4 in November and the final fixtures from 22 to 30 March 2027.
The tournament is set to run from 19 June to 17 July, 2027, in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
