MADALITSO PHIRI ALIAS DALISOUL MWANA WAMU KOMBONI CHARGED AND ARRESTED FOR SEVERAL TRAFFIC OFFENSES
The Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi has confirmed in a statement that artist and radio host Madalitso Phiri alias Dalisoul Mwana Wamu Komboni has been charged and arrested for several traffic offences, including dangerous driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle without a road licence, lacking a fitness certificate, and failing to have compulsory third party insurance.
This follows a road traffic accident involving a police motorbike and a private vehicle that occurred around 23:00hrs on Monday, April 27th 2026 along Mosi-oa-Tunya Road opposite Puma Filling Station , leading to a Zambia Police officer sustaining slight injuries.
Officer Chilabi says Inspector Kwibisa Mbuye, 39, of Lusaka, was riding a Zambia Police BMW motorbike, registration number ZP 3050, when the collision occurred.
Inspector Mbuye sustained minor injuries and was rushed to Maina Soko Military Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The police motorbike sustained extensive damage to its front end.
The other vehicle involved was a Nissan Mitsuoka, registration number BAB 5514, driven by 42-year-old Madalitso Phiri of Chalala, Lusaka. The driver escaped unhurt.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident happened when the driver of the Nissan Mitsuoka allegedly cut in front of the oncoming police motorbike, causing the collision.
Police have since impounded the vehicle for examination.
Dalisoul is expected to appear before court soon.
