The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has urged broadcast media to be professional in their work, especially as the country heads toward the general election.
IBA Director General Webster Malido says broadcast institutions should facilitate in-house training to empower journalists as they report on elections.
Speaking during a tour of broadcast media houses in Chinsali Muchinga Province, Mr. Malido emphasized the need to equip media practitioners with techniques to guard against misinformation and disinformation.
Mr. Malido added that the purpose of their visit to the province is to understand the operating environment of broadcast media ahead of the elections.
The IBA DG was in the company of Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana.
