The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Gilbert Phiri, is yet to decide on the fate of journalist and media personality Mutale Mwanza’s cyber harassment case involving fellow media personality Daisy Lusumpa.
This follows an application by Lusumpa, popularly known as Chi Chi Daisy, to withdraw the matter—an action that requires the DPP’s consent.
Mwanza appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 13, 2026, where proceedings were held in chambers pending the DPP’s position.
The case has been adjourned to April 20, 2026, when the court is expected to deliver the DPP’s decision on whether the withdrawal will be allowed.
Mwanza is accused of using her Facebook page, M-Nation, on November 7, 2024, to allegedly harass and cause emotional distress to Lusumpa.
The matter will proceed to trial if the DPP rejects the application.
