The intra-party nominations for the United Party for National Development (UPND) were marked by tension and allegations of unfair practices.
Stephen Chikota, aspirant for the provincial chairmanship, claimed that there were deliberate attempts by the incumbent leadership to block him from filing his nomination.
He revealed that the nomination gate was locked 15 hours before the official closing time of 18 hours.
However, the provincial party leadership described Chikota’s claims as concerning and false, dismissing allegations of obstruction.
