Former Patriotic Front (PF) Kabwata Constituency 2021 parliamentary candidate Clement Tembo has defected to the United Party for National Development (UPND), pledging to add value to the ruling party.
Speaking during the defection meeting, Tembo said he has seen and witnessed the good policies being implemented under the UPND government, which he believes every Zambian should support.
He urged party members not to feel intimidated by the arrival of new members, emphasizing that no one is coming to take anyone’s role, but rather to work together for the benefit of the country.
Tembo described his move as a return home, referring to himself as a prodigal son, and reflected on his earlier involvement with the UPND dating back to 2006.
Tembo resigned from the Patriotic Front last week and officially joined the UPND this afternoon.
