Senegal have paraded the Africa Cup of Nations trophy ahead of their friendly match against Peru, despite being stripped of the title by the Confederation of African Football.
The Lions of Teranga defeated hosts Morocco in the final on the eighteenth of January, in a match that descended into chaos when the Senegal players abandoned the pitch after their opponents were awarded a stoppage-time penalty with the scores level.
CAF have since declared Morocco as the rightful winners of the tournament, a decision Senegal have challenged at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, as the dispute over African football’s biggest prize continues.
