
The National Council of Student Unions (NACOSU) has commended the government for introducing initiatives aimed at supporting young people in learning institutions across Zambia.
NACOSU Secretary General Vincent Sakala highlighted programmes such as free education, meal allowances, and the distribution of sanitary pads to girls, saying they are improving students’ welfare.
Mr. Sakala said this during a press briefing held in Lusaka on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Meanwhile, NACOSU Women’s League member Blossom Mwanza expressed gratitude to the government for promoting equality and supporting the girl child through the provision of sanitary pads and other essential menstrual health materials.
The union has also disclosed that it has written to President Hakainde Hichilema, inviting him to a meet-and-greet event.
