
Police in Shifwankula, Kabangwe, Lusaka, have uncovered a house harbouring suspected illegal immigrants and intercepted 21 individuals following a tip-off from the public.
Alert community members discovered the suspected illegal activity at the house and informed the authorities.
Police responded promptly, apprehending 13 individuals and later rounding up eight others who were found locked in a room.
Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi reports that two suspected immigrants and the suspected facilitator, identified as Michael Kyalo, are still at large.
He added that preliminary investigations suggest that 20 of the individuals are Ethiopian, while one is Somali.
Mr Chilabi thanked the community for their cooperation and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
