She was carrying a three-year-old baby on her back and walking with her five-year-old son. Silumesi died from multiple stab wounds while the 5-Year-Old child managed to escape and alerted villagers who rushed to the scene and found the baby unharmed but covered in its mother’s blood.
The suspect later entered a house in Siluwe Village where he attacked Namiye Mukanwa, 103, who was in bed. She sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
Police recovered a knife believed to have been used in the attacks. The suspect later fled but was apprehended by members of the public, who assaulted him, leading to his death.
