The National Action for Quality Education (NAQUEZ) has urged the Ministry of Education to reinfence the school feeding program to safeguard the initiative from failing.
NAQUEZ Executive Director, Arron Chansa, expressed sadness over two cases of theft of school feeding program materials, saying it could affect the program’s success and sustainability.
Police in Western Province yesterday arrested a grade 12 pupil for stealing 35 bags of maize meant for the school feeding program.
And Mr Chansa also called on the Ministry to provide necessary logistical support, as the program is currently struggling due to a lack of cooking utensils, charcoal, and funds to employ cooks.
Last Month Government launched the enhanced school feeding program an initiative, aimed at providing nutritious meals to learners across the country,
