REFLECTION ON SKELETAL DISCOVERY, ONE YEAR ON

One year on, George Kalaba’s house stands deserted, a haunting reminder of the shocking discovery of his skeletal remains.

The Lusaka High Court’s conviction of his wife, widow, 52 year old Silvia Mutaba, on manslaughter charges has brought some closure to the family, but the community still grapples with the disturbing circumstances.

On January 14, 2025, police discovered Kalaba’s remains hidden away in his Garden Luangwa compound home, leaving the community chilled.

Although the house remains abandoned, the community has begun to move on, yet the shock and unease linger.

Some Residents of Garden Luangwa compound recall the incident, telling Diamond tv news crew that It’s been tough, but life goes on.

Despite the passage of time, the memory of that fateful day remains vivid, a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and care for one another.
