The Zambia Police Service has confirmed that the body of the six year old child, who was allegedly drowned by a stepmother, has been retrieved from the Ngwerere River.
The retrieval operation was successfully conducted by the Fire Brigade in collaboration with officers from the Zambia Police Service.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Chipo Kaitisha, says search operations for the second child are still ongoing, with efforts intensified to locate and recover the body.
