A Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Flight Sergeant has asked the court to order a paternity test following allegations that he fathered a child with his 14-year-old daughter.
The accused is facing charges of defilement and incest.
It is alleged that the offences occurred between August 1 and 31, 2024, resulting in the teenager’s pregnancy.
The court heard that she was 28 weeks pregnant at the time of his arrest.
Magistrate Kawama Mwamfuli also heard submissions suggesting that the pregnancy could have resulted from sexual abuse by other individuals, prompting the accused to request a paternity test.
Meanwhile, the court is expected to receive rebuttal evidence from the complainant following the production of a letter allegedly written to exonerate the accused.
The matter has been adjourned to March 23, 2026, for continued hearing.
