KABWE HIGH COURT ORDERS HALT OF PF CONVENTION

.

The Kabwe High Court has upheld an injunction granted in November 2025 to PF faction Secretary General Morgan Ng’ona against the Given Lubinda-led faction of the Patriotic Front (PF).

The faction had planned to hold an extraordinary general conference at the end of February.

However, Kabwe High Court Judge-in-Charge Kelvin Limbani has ordered that the convention be suspended until the matter is determined through a full trial.

Judge Limbani stated that the injunction is meant to protect the plaintiff from irreparable harm that could occur if the defendants or their agents are not restrained from occupying the PF Secretariat, using PF materials, holding meetings in the name of the PF, or convening an elective convention pending the final determination of the case.

In November 2025, the court granted an ex parte injunction to Morgan Ng’ona of the Robert Chabinga-led PF faction.

The order barred the rival Given Lubinda and Miles Sampa-led faction from holding a general conference, using the PF Secretariat, or accessing party materials.
