A 23-year-old farmer of Mabumba area in Mansa has been attacked and left seriously injured, with K23,000—money paid by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA)—stolen from him.
The victim, Evaristo Mulubwa, says he was attacked together with his elder brother shortly after receiving the payment around 21:00 hours, when the two decided to sleep at a cousin’s house.
He disclosed that the assailants appeared to know who was carrying the money before they pounced.
Mr. Mulubwa was struck with an iron rod below the chest, an injury that has left him in need of surgical operation.
