ZNS OFFERS SUPPORT TO FAMILIES AFTER CHONGWE DROWNING TRAGEDY

The Zambia National Service (ZNS) has moved in to support families left grieving after the tragic drowning of five children at the ZNS dam in Chongwe, an incident that has deeply saddened both the community and the nation.

In a show of solidarity, ZNS has pledged to provide food, coffins and transport on the day of burial to help ease the immediate burden on the affected families.

Announcing the support during a visit to the bereaved families, ZNS Chief of Public Relations and Liaison, Brigadier General Mable Nyone, says the gesture was on behalf of the ZNS Commander and a reflection of the Service’s shared grief.

Community leaders, including Area Chairperson John Nyirenda,has commended ZNS for its timely intervention and compassion during what they described as an extremely painful moment.

And one out of the 5 who drowned Devine Musopelo has been put to rest at Memorial Park while the remaining 4 will be buried on Monday.
