
Government has procured 10 tractors with tipping trailers at a total cost of K14.8 million under the Cash for Work Programme to enhance solid waste management in Lusaka.
Speaking during the handover ceremony to the Lusaka Integrated Solid Waste Management company held at Mambilima Secondary School ground in Matero,Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Gift Sialubalo said the tractors will be made available for hire to licensed solid waste management operators in order to improve waste collection and disposal services.
Mr. Sialubalo further stated that the Lusaka Integrated Solid Waste Management Company will assume full responsibility for the management, deployment, and maintenance of the equipment to ensure efficiency and sustainability in service delivery.
