Government has called on the public to remain patient over the poor state of the Sesheke–Kazungula Road, assuring them that plans are underway to rehabilitate the vital route.
Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Charles Milupi says government is sourcing resources to improve the road in order to enhance economic activities in the area.
Speaking during a joint press briefing with Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba in Livingstone, Mr. Milupi says government is fully aware of the challenges posed by the deteriorated road and is committed to restoring it to an acceptable standard.
He emphasized that the condition of the Sesheke Road remains a priority, given its importance to trade, tourism, and regional connectivity.
Earlier, Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba reassured Livingstone residents, particularly those in Maramba and Ngwenya communities, over the poor state of crossing points in their areas, saying government is working towards lasting solutions.
