Johnson Shepard Kalenga, aged 27, of Zingalume Compound, has died after a granite pallet fell on him while he was offloading it from a container at Industrial Park along Mungwi Road in Lusaka.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi, the incident happened on 17 December 2025 around 11:00hrs and preliminary investigations indicate the accident occurred when the pallet became unstable during the offloading process.
He further stated that Kalenga was rushed to Matero Level One Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say his body has been deposited at the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary, pending postmortem examination and burial.
