ZSIC General Insurance Limited has launched a Cybercrime Insurance Policy, positioning the product as a timely and critical solution for organisations operating in Zambia’s rapidly digitising economy.
Speaking at a media launch of the Cyber Insurance Product in Lusaka, ZSIC Managing Director Trevor Jengajenga says the policy is designed to protect businesses before, during and after cyber incidents, offering both financial cover and immediate access to specialised cyber-response expertise.
Mr. Jengajenga says as Zambia’s economy continues to embrace digital platforms, organisations are increasingly exposed to cyber threats due to the growing handling of sensitive data such as personal identification details, payment information, medical records and financial data.
He notes that while digitalisation has improved efficiency and connectivity, it has also created new and complex cyber risks that can disrupt operations, damage reputations and expose businesses to regulatory penalties.
Mr. Jengajenga explains that the ZSIC General Cybercrime Insurance Policy responds directly to these challenges by providing comprehensive protection against cyberattacks, helping organisations recover quickly and continue operating with confidence.
He says the launch of the product underscores ZSIC General Insurance’s leadership, innovation and commitment to providing relevant insurance solutions that meet emerging risks in the market.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jengajenga has revealed that 2025 has been a strong year for ZSIC General Insurance, with the company paying over K300 million in claims by the third quarter of 2025, up from K230 million in 2024, a performance he said reflects ZSIC’s reliability and ability to honour claims.
