SICHONE APPOINTS FASHION SAKALA AS NEW CHIPOLOPOLO CAPTAIN

Chipolopolo head coach Moses Sichone has announced changes to the team’s leadership, with Fashion Sakala named as the new captain of the Zambia national football team.

The new captaincy structure has been unveiled on Monday during the team’s training session at the Pinata Sports Arena in Murcia, Spain, where the squad is camped in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Under the revised hierarchy, Lubambo Musonda has been named first assistant captain, followed by Kings Kangwa as second assistant, Frankie Musonda as third assistant, and Benson Sakala as fourth assistant captain.

Sichone has thanked Lubambo Musonda for the leadership he has provided during his time at the helm and has urged the players to support the changes made at captaincy level as the team prepares for AFCON.

Meanwhile Musonda has welcomed the adjustments and has called on his teammates to rally behind the new leadership team, stressing the importance of unity and discipline within the squad.

And Sakala has accepted the responsibility of leading the Chipolopolo with humility, acknowledging the significance of the role to both the team and the nation.

Meanwhile, the Chipolopolo is intensifying preparations for AFCON and using international friendly matches , with the team set to be playing a friendly match against Congo tomorrow as part of the ongoing preparations.
