The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Copper Queens and Zesco Ndola Girls striker Dorothy Nsofwa Mukatasha, who will be remembered as one of the country’s most committed women’s footballers.
In a statement issued by FAZ Head of Communications and Media Nkweto Tembwe, FAZ General Secretary Machacha Shepande has conveyed heartfelt sympathy to Mukatasha’s family, her former teammates, and the broader women’s football community.
Shepande described the late striker as highly respected for her dedication to the sport and noted that her passing has left a significant gap in women’s football.
Speaking on behalf of FAZ President Keith Mweemba and the Executive Committee, Shepande said the football family will be standing with the bereaved as they reflect on Mukatasha’s impact and legacy.
