A road traffic accident which happened at the University of Zambia junction along great east road has claimed eleven lives.
The accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus registration number ARB 2617 which had 14 passengers onboard and a Zambia National Service (ZNS) Low bed truck registration number ZNS 666F.
Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital Public Relations Officer Chizongo Siachiwena says three survivors are undergoing treatment.
Of the three, Diamond News found two nursing wounds in the resuscitation unit while one was undergoing surgery in the intensive care unit.
Meanwhile, leaders that include Munali Member of Parliament Mike Mposha and Lusaka Mayor Chilando Chitangala have pledged to assist the bereaved families through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit.
