The Chipolopolo have lost 3-2 to Angola, in a pulsating international friendly match played at the November 11 Stadium on Tuesday.
The hosts took control early, racing to a 2-1 halftime lead before Zambia equalized in the second half, only for Angola to strike late and dash the Chipolopolo’s comeback hopes.
Angola opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a swift counter-attack before Zambia equalized through Jack Lahne Kalichi’s first international goal in the 41st minute.
The Chipolopolo then trailed further in the 57th minute as Angola added a third goal in the 78th minute to put the game beyond reach.
Zambia pulled one back in stoppage time but ran out of time to complete a dramatic comeback.
The defeat caps a difficult week for the Chipolopolo, who lost 3-1 to South Africa on Saturday and dealt with a food poisoning incident that hospitalized Head Coach Moses Sichone and other staff members.
