The accident occurred near the traffic lights of the University of Zambia-UNZA Great East Road Campus.
Images witnessed by Diamond Media reveal a horrific scene in which bodies of passengers were scattered across a radius of about 50 meters, a situation that indicates the impact was at high speed.
Several motorists and pedestrians helped remove mutilated bodies and the injured from the road.
From the images seen the bus driver is believed to be among the dead while the condition of the truck driver is unknown.
