PRESIDENT HICHILEMA NOT HARBOURING HATRED OVER CHINGOLA INCIDENT – CHIPOKA MULENGA
President Hakainde Hichilema is not harbouring any hatred following the incident that occurred during his recent visit to Chingola, says Chingola Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga.
Speaking when he addressed traders at Chiwempala Market, Mr. Mulenga said the President remains focused on improving the welfare of citizens and ensuring that peace and unity prevail across the country.
Mr. Mulenga, who is also Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, assured the traders that President Hichilema will honour his pledge of ten million kwacha towards the reconstruction of the market.
He added that the Head of State has instructed that a proper market shelter and concrete floor be constructed to help prevent future fire outbreaks.
The Minister also condemned the violent conduct by some youths during the President’s visit, urging traders to help guide and discipline young people in their communities.
Meanwhile, traders at Chiwempala Market have continued to apologize to the President over the incident, describing it as unfortunate and unrepresentative of the Chingola community.
