
The media fraternity is mourning the untimely passing of Chishaba Masengu, a veteran broadcaster and former employee of Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) and until his death served as Media and Information Literacy Chief Trainer at Free Press Initiative.
Masengu’s sudden death has left colleagues and friends in deep shock and disbelief, with many describing him as a passionate professional, dedicated mentor, and an unwavering advocate for teamwork and excellence in journalism.
In a statement by Free Press Initiative confirming his passing, his colleagues have expressed profound sorrow at the loss of a man they regarded not just as a coworker, but as a brother, friend, and source of inspiration.
Masengu was widely respected for his commitment to promoting media literacy and empowering young journalists through training and mentorship.
Condolences have poured in from across the media sector, with tributes highlighting his generosity, professionalism, and the lasting impact he made on those he worked with.
The organization has extended heartfelt sympathies to Masengu’s wife, family, and friends during this difficult time.
