The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has denied reports circulating on social media, claiming that the mass voter registration exercise has been extended to February 2026.
In a statement issued by Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro, the Commission has clarified that the ongoing registration exercise will close as scheduled on 11th November 2025, with no extension announced.
Mr. Kasaro says while the Commission has recorded over 1.2 million registrations from phases one to four including both new voters, suggesting an extension is wrong and misleading.
The Commission has since urged members of the public and stakeholders to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates on the voter registration process.
