President Hakainde Hichilema has appointed former Dean of the School of the Built Environment at the Copperbelt University, Professor Ephraim Kabunda Munshifwa, as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy.
Prof. Munshifwa assumes the role at a time when Zambia is grappling with severe energy challenges, with some residential areas receiving as little as three hours of power per day.
The President has also sworn in Charity Munganga as Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Administration, and Fred Hamaamba as Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations.
Additionally, President Hichilema has sworn in Luxon Kazabu as the new Chairperson of the Local Government Service Commission.
And the head of state has encouraged the newly appointed officials to serve the people of Zambia in the best of their ability.
