ZESCO United have gained an early advantage in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round after defeating Jwaneng Galaxy FC BY 4 goals to 3 in a thrilling first-leg encounter at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Heading into the return leg in Gaborone, Jwaneng Galaxy head coach Sean Conner has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance despite the narrow defeat, noting that the three away goals give them a strong chance of progressing to the next stage.
He has commended his players for showing character and confidence against one of Zambia’s most experienced clubs.
Meanwhile, ZESCO United head coach Emmanuel Siwale has praised his players for their resilience but has urged them to remain focused ahead of the decisive second leg.
The return fixture is scheduled to be played next week in Botswana.
