The Lusaka City Council- LCC has seized quantities of Kachasu, Tujilili, and other unregulated alcoholic beverages from Lima Tower and Stanley Bar along Freedom Way in the central business district.
LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager Bulumba Nyambe says the operation is part of the council’s ongoing efforts to curb the sale of illicit brews and safeguard public health.
Mr. Nyambe revealed that some traders attempted to disguise the illegal alcohol in MOJO-branded bottles in an effort to evade detection.
The joint operation was conducted on Saturday in collaboration with the Zambia Police Service.
